False Prophets

Matthew 7:15 (KJV)

15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

I decided to do this because I came so close to falling for a false prophet. I came across something in my research called the Jonah Code. It sounded intriguing, so I clicked on it, It was a video by some guy named Michael Rood. Never heard of him before, but he was talking about how Christians have been studying the Bible wrong. We’ve been using our Western way of thinking to interpret the Bible. We need to go back to a Hebrew way of thinking to fully understand the Bible. It made sense. But the only thing is that in order for you to find out what the Jonah Code was, you’d have to buy his DVD.

I liked his way of thinking, so I decided to see if I could find the text of the DVD. Like, maybe someone bought it and typed a blog about it or something. Or maybe Michael Rood had a blog where he talked about it. The point is, I was looking for the Jonah Code elsewhere. I was getting excited, though. Here’s a guy who was teaching about delving deeper into scripture to find their true meaning. This is exactly what I want.

Unfortunately, while I was looking for Jonah Code elsewhere, I found several Christian sites that outed him as a false teacher. In fact, he’s part of a cult called The Way, which has pagan roots. Not only that, but he even confessed to being a “paid professional false prophet“. Of course, you have to pay $20 for his confession.

The Bible warns us to beware of false prophets, as the opening verse of this posts says. There are countless false prophets everywhere. If I wasn’t careful, I could have fallen for Rood’s lies. Of course, he eventually confessed to wearing sheep’s clothing, but most false prophets don’t come clean and end up tricking millions.

In Matthew 24:3-5,10-11 (the very chapter that talks about the Fig Tree), Jesus warns that in the last days there will be many false prophets coming in his name, and to not be deceived.

So be careful to research that awesome new preacher you found. Make sure that he’s teaching out of the Bible and that what they're saying can fully be backed up.
