Likewise: Introduction

Right, so I've talked about The Ten Minute Bible Hour Podcast in a previous post on this site. In that post, I mentioned how it's inspired this site, mostly in the tonal shift I took. In the early days of this site, I was making the posts super serious because I was a relatively new Christian and I wanted to make sure I had everything right and I thought that meant being super serious. But then like ten years ago I found Matt Whittman's YouTube channel, and here he was using pop culture references and humour to teach the Bible. I slowly started doing something similar on here. Heck, there have been posts on here inspired by episodes of his podcast.

But now there's an entire series on this site inspired by it. Matt tends to use something relatable, whether from pop culture or from his life, then he'll say "Likewise", and tie it into the Bible lesson of the day. I've always loved that and wanted to do it but didn't want to do it because it's blatantly ripping him off essentially. But I decided to just go ahead and do it and give him the full credit for the idea for this series...

I'll end this by saying that I highly recommend everyone check out Matt's podcast and YouTube channel! He's been doing it longer and more consistently than I have, and he's far more insightful than I'll ever be. It's part of the reason I go on hiatus for years on this site. I type up everything I know and then I hit a road block. He's been posting EVERY DAY for years and is just building momentum. So yeah... Go check out his stuff!
